A new fingerprint ridges frequency determination method
In many cases the average fingerprint ridge frequency in the whole fingerprint image should be determined. This parameter is, among other things, very important in procedures, where so-called fingerprint reference point has to be located. Unfortunately, as far, ridges frequency has been determined a priori, on the basis of anthropological measurements of the human population. This parameter is ...
متن کاملFingerprint Reference Point Detection
A robust fingerprint recognition algorithm should tolerate the rotation and translation of the fingerprint image. One popular solution is to consistently detect a unique reference point and compute a unique reference orientation for translational and rotational alignment. This paper develops an effective algorithm to locate a reference point and compute the corresponding reference orientation c...
متن کاملAn Accurate SER Estimation Method Based on Propagation Probability
In this paper, we present an accurate but very fast soft error rate (SER) estimation technique for digital circuits based on error propagation probability (EPP) computation. Experiments results and comparison of the results with the random simulation technique show that our proposed method is on average within 6% of the random simulation method and four to five orders of magnitude faster.
متن کاملAn Iterative Fingerprint Enhancement Algorithm Based on Accurate Determination of Orientation Flow
We describe an algorithm to enhance and binarize a fingerprint image. The algorithm is based on accurate determination of orientation flow of the ridges of the fingerprint image by computing variance of the neighborhood pixels around a pixel in different directions. We show that an iterative algorithm which captures the mutual interdependence of orientation flow computation, enhancement and bin...
متن کاملFingerprint matching using ridges
Traditionally, fingerprint matching is minutia-based, which establishes the minutiae correspondences between two fingerprints. In this paper, a novel fingerprint matching algorithm is presented, which establishes both the ridge correspondences and the minutia correspondences between two fingerprints. First N initial substructure (including a minutia and adjacent ridges) pairs are found by a nov...
